The 1990s
"The Price of the Bride " 1990
Soviet double agent escapes to doublecross lots of people.
"Had fun living and working in London. Met and worked with an English actor named Peter Egan with whom I've stayed in touch over the years. Very talented and nice man."
"The Whereabouts of Jenny" 1991
Father [Ed "Al Bundy" O'Neill] plays a father who runs a bar. He's divorced but loves to spend time with his little girl, Jenny. When Jenny's mother gets involved with a criminal b-friend who goes into a 'witness-protection-project', all contact between Jenny and her father are cut-off. This all by the doings of bad guy Van Zandt [Farrell], who runs this project. O'Neill fights for the right to visit his daughter. Farrell plays the 'bad guy' very convincingly....you can't help but hate him.
"Directed by Gene Reynold, who helped create MASH and worked with us for years. Had a good time playing a 'bad guy."
"Silent Motive" 1991
A screenplaywriter [Patricia Wettig] gets involved in a murderous plot where the killer uses her screenplays as blueprints for his crimes. Farrell plays a cop who tries to keep her out of trouble.
"Produced this as well. Shot it in Vancouver, British Columbia, a fabulous city. Acting in it was an afterthought and I only did so because the company we produced it for wanted me to. Ed Asner played a role in it as a favor to me (the agent) and it's always fun to work with friends. Patricia Wettig, who starred, walked into a door on the first day of shooting and cut open her forehead. That's why's she wearing a hat and/or a scarf in so many scenes."
"The Killers Within" 1996
Imagine a guy visiting his brother. Brother is not there. Guy tries to find brother but finds only a congressman [Farrell] who's pretending to help, but who's in fact a very nasty guy, harboring a Nazi war criminal in his house and wanting to start a "Fourth Reich". Still worth watching if you like a good laugh. :)
Goofs: [plenty of those in there but I'll only give three].
How to make coffee? Just throw water in the machine without watching, forget the filter and throw in the coffee and walk away without turning the machine on. Imagine having a terrible car-accident. You're nearly dead. You end up in hospital with a bandage round your head. Et voila.....you hop out of bed, not even acting dizzy and continue your quest of finding your brother. When Farrell's set on fire [literally] watch the arm. Very strange position in relation to his face.
"I think this is the low-budget feature that Paul Leder did. He died a year or so ago. Nice man. The script on this was not particularly good, but again the character was a bad guy and I don't get many opportunities to play them. I never saw the picture and expect it to be not much. In one of the final scenes, when I'm supposedly set on fire and fall into the pool, but the stunt double they got for me looked so unlike me that I thought it funny. On a happier note, Paul's daughter, Mimi Leder, has become a very successful director in the last year or so after directing a number of "E.R." episodes. She did a couple of big features."
"Vows of Deception" 1996

Friend sets up a blind date for Clay Spencer [Farrell], not knowing the (pregnant) woman [Cheryll Ladd] is a profiteer. Clay falls head over heels for Lucinda and they get married [see movie-shots below]. But Lucinda wants more and more and seduces Clay's son Nick. [have to admit....he is a QT!]. As you might have guessed....Clay finds out....uh-oh! Will Lucinda get what she deserves? Best watch that film to find out. :)
Nitpicker's guide: it really is amazing how a dead person's neck can still pulsate at every heartbeat.
"Cheryl Ladd starred. Sort of a fun part. The nice man who gets taken by a con (in this case a woman) and ends up getting the short end. I had never worked with Cheryl before and frankly didn't expect her to be either as nice, as smart or as talented as she is."
"Sins of the Mind" 1997
After an accident Michelle Widener's [played by Missy Crider] behavior changes dramatically. She no longer has control over her behavior. The changes in Michelle cause tensions in the family, even resulting in the family breaking up. Only her father [Farrell] keeps on believing in her and tries to find help for his daughter. Absolutely loved this one!
"I'm with you. This is a story my partner and I have had for years and finally figured out a way to sell it. The network and the studio bought it because they thought they were getting a "nymphomaniac" movie. We kept telling them that it was a much deeper story than that. I think it's an important film about parental love that speaks to the point that there is always a reason for human behavior."
